About Frances

I’ve always loved to read. And I’ve always loved to write. Growing up in sunny Southern California, I spent hours at the beach devouring books and magazines (much to the dismay of my dermatologist!). In high school, I joined the school newspaper and read the daily news announcements over the PA system. I beamed with pride when I saw my first bylined article, a story about two students who had started volunteering at a local Greenpeace office.

Thousands of articles and about two dozen books later, I’m still enthralled with the power of the written word.

Today, I’m an award-winning editor and journalist as well as a New York Times bestselling ghostwriter/collaborator/“book doctor.” I’ve worked on books for major publishers, including Random House, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Harlequin Nonfiction, Grand Central Publishing, and Free Press. I’ve helped authors craft powerful book proposals that have landed six-figure book deals with traditional publishers. And I’ve produced books for authors who wanted to make a name for themselves by harnessing the power of self-publishing.

There’s nothing I love more than helping people find their voice and tell their story. Whether you’re a doctor, psychologist, CEO, entrepreneur, nutrition expert, fitness guru, or someone with a remarkable life story, I can get you from the idea stage to a completed manuscript, and have a lot of fun along the way!

Depending on your needs, you can hire me for ghostwriting, co-authoring, editing, or consulting. Please contact me directly at frances@ses-la.com to find out how I can help you make your dream of becoming an author a reality.
